Description (Service) Open detention centre and place of open custody under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (formerly Young Offenders Act) for children and youth 12 to 18 years old * operated by Morton Youth Services * programs include Detention prior to disposition of sentence by courts and Short Term Open Custody by court disposition * offers a non-voluntary structured group residential program, including an in house school for children * addresses child behaviour problems (aggression, constant running, placement breakdowns, suicidal tendencies and requirement for assessment/placement) * offers stabilization of behaviour through a self management program and facilitates court ordered assessment
