Description

Description (Service) Certified Respiratory Educators may conduct spirometry and provide education regarding:
  • smoking cessation, basic pathophysiology of Asthma and/or COPD, inhaler technique and tools for monitoring disease (Peak Flow Monitor, Asthma Diary), symptomatic relief strategies, allergies and environment control and other community resources available
  • helps patients develop individualized action plans and goals to self-manage their chronic lung condition
  • delivered by a Registered Nurse or Respiratory Therapist with additional certifications in respiratory health and a specialized interest in the management of Asthma and COPD
