Emergency Warming Centre Open

The Administration Centre (2231 Nursery Road) remains open to the public as an emergency warming and relief centre.

  • Hours: 8:30 am-8 pm
  • Priority is given to those with medical needs.
  • Service dogs are welcome.
  • Bring your own chargers and reusable water bottles.
  • Please sign in with staff upon arrival.

The Administration Centre is operating with reduced staffing levels. It is recommended to call ahead or visit www.springwater.ca/Contact to ensure service requested is available.

The Elmvale Community Arena (14 George St) is also available.

  • hours: 8 am-5 pm
  • access to rest rooms and showers;
  • charging electronic devices (please bring your own electronic chargers) priority will be given to medical devices;
  • access to water (please bring a reusable water bottle).

When Environment Canada issues an extreme heat or cold alert, rest areas are available to residents for relief from extreme weather conditions. These can include public buildings such as libraries or community centres during regular business hours. Other buildings such as malls or cinemas that have air conditioning/heating could also be used.In Springwater, the following locations are available:

  • Elmvale Library, 50 Queen St W, Mon 1 pm- 5 pm * Tue, Thu 10 am- 7 pm * Wed, Fri 10 am - 5 pm * Sat 10 am-4 pm
  • Midhurst Library, 12 Finlay Mill Rd, Mon 1 pm- 5 pm * Tue, Thu 10 am- 7 pm * Wed, Fri 10 am - 5 pm * Sat 10 am-4 pm
  • Minesing Library, 2347 Ronald Rd, Tue 10 am-5 pm, Thu 1 pm-7 pm
