Free volunteer tax clinic for low income individuals living in the riding of Simcoe-Grey. Volunteers will complete and e-file the income tax return for simple returns. Please see eligibility requirements below for income thresholds and what classifies as a simple return.

Hours Paper work can be dropped off Mon-Fri 9 am-4:30pm (excluding holidays)

Eligibility Family size and total family income: 1 person $40,000 2 persons $55,000 3 persons $60,000 4 persons $65,000 5 persons $70,000 More than 5 persons $70,000 plus $5,000 for each additional person Volunteers do not prepare tax returns for complex situations such as:
  • returns for deceased persons
  • individuals who file for bankruptcy
  • self-employed individuals
  • individuals who report capital gains or losses
  • individuals who report employment expenses, or business or rental income and expenses
Eligible taxpayers normally served by the CVITP include:
  • Indigenous peoples
  • Low-income individuals and social assistance recipients
  • Newcomers to Canada
  • Seniors
  • Students
Application Call in advance to receive intake forms. Can drop off intake forms and documents required to complete the tax return. As this is a volunteer program, returns make take one to two weeks to complete.
