Description (Service) The Engineering and Public Works Department is responsible for:
  • Curb side garbage collection, recycling, green box program
  • Drinking water and sanitary sewage works
  • Treatment and disposal of sewage from septic and holding tanks
  • Collection, diversion and disposal of solid waste
  • Muskoka District roads
  • Management of the Port Carling Locks

The District now accepts electronic equipment free of charge from Muskoka residents at selected waste depots including: obsolete computers, printers, scanners, monitors, home electronics such as stereos, VCRs, televisions and telephones.  Refer to website for electronic waste depots dates and times
