DutiesPigs of Hope, Nov 12 - Dec 21, 2019 (Adoption Site Lead)

Pigs of Hope is an annual fundraising campaign where supporters "adopt" a piggy bank to take home, or to their business, and collect donations for the Canadian Cancer Society Wheels of Hope Transportation program. The Canadian Cancer Society is looking for lead volunteers to help organize and oversee adoption sites in Collingwood, Kincardine, Saugeen Shores, and South Bruce Peninsula. The 2019 Pigs of Hope campaign will launch November 12th and run until December 31st.

Planning and organizing the Pigs of Hope Adoption Site takes time, passion and creative thinking. As the adoption site lead you will work closely with your local staff partner to secure and manage a high traffic adoption site in your community for four days (two days for adoption and two days for returns). You will be responsible for the set-up and take-down of the adoption location as well as securing volunteers as needed to help oversee the four days. You will also ensure that information about the importance of the Pigs of Hope campaign is shared with the adopters and you will track the distribution and return of the pigs.

With support from volunteers and the organization’s staff, you will be a part of something truly extraordinary in your community. Success depends on volunteers like you. With your community insight, you will raise awareness, encourage participation, and drive fundraising results.
