Duties• Create content for weekly internal newsletter  
• Research, write and edit stories for Red Weekly that highlight regional achievements  
• Interview volunteers, employees and clients for the purposes of creating profiles for Red Weekly 
• Works with staff on creating content for annual or one-time projects 
• Researches and writes content for projects that promote the Red Cross. This could include editorial content that accompanies an advertisement, social media content, program brochures, local communications messaging, etc.  
• Provide input on recruitment materials (e.g. posters, displays, brochures)  
• Supports the Communications Department during emergencies and fundraising appeals 
• Works alongside Communications staff members to create/edit content to support the Philanthropy and Communications Departments when on appeal  
• Assists in creating copy that positions the Red Cross as the charity of choice during fundraising appeals  
• Contributes to a healthy and safe working environment 
• Performs other duties, as required

• Superior writing and editing skills 
• Proficient use of computer applications (internet and database research skills, MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

• Ability to adapt to changing circumstances  
• Willingness to travel within the region
