Canine Foster Volunteers provide a safe, loving and temporary home for puppies and senior dogs. You must have the ability to separate the foster animals from any pets in your home by keeping them in a separate room, if necessary. We will provide training and all the supplies you need. 
 
Canine Foster Volunteers are responsible for helping the puppies (a minimum of 2 at a time), seniors and / or adult dogs in their care thrive until they are ready to be adopted. This will include feeding the animals at least twice a day, possibly more, potty training (for puppies), and exercising and socializing the animals. It may also include bottle feeding and administering oral medications.

The Next Steps Walking Program is seeking Walking Partners! Next Steps serves individuals who have suffered from a stroke & their caregivers by providing them with a safe setting to interact with their peers and engage in physical activity. Next Steps seeks to improve participants’ quality of life. 
 
The Walking Partner is responsible for providing program support to staff and participants. The Walking Partner will assist the coordinator as needed (i.e. set-up and clean-up) in order to ensure the effective delivery of the program. This volunteer will also provide companionship and support to participants by developing positive and encouraging relationships with them, ultimately helping participants to maximize their experience in the program.

2020 MS Walk Collingwood - May 3, 2020 
Duties include helping to plan and execute the 2020 Collingwood MS Walk held May 3, 2020. The planning portion of the position requires one hour a month where you participate (either in person or via phone) in a planning meeting where we discuss logistics, sponsorship, recruitment, and entertainment for the event. The execution portion requires helping for two hours on Saturday May 2nd to set up before the event as well as helping on Sunday May 3rd from 7 a.m. - 1 p.m. Heavy lifting not required.

Piping Plover Guardians   Clearview  Collingwood  Wasaga Beach 
Friends of the Nancy Island Historic Site and Wasaga Beach Park
Wasaga Beach Provincial Park
Wasaga Beach Provincial Park (WBPP) and Friends of Nancy Island are pleased to announce the return of the Piping Plover; an endangered shorebird who has returned to the shores of WBPP after an extended hiatus. Gearing up for a busy season, we are currently seeking eager volunteers who will join our Piping Plover Guardian Family for the bird’s critical breeding season (June & July).  
 
Responsibilities include: 
• Monitoring the birds while they are nesting and recording important behaviours 
• Monitoring newly hatch Piping Plover chicks and recording important behaviours 
• Sharing updates with the public  
• Showing the public the Piping Plovers through spotting scopes 
• Providing feedback and updates to the Piping Plover Coordinator 
 
You don’t have to be an avid birder to volunteer as training is provided! Training is tentatively scheduled for the end of May.

2020 MS Walk Collingwood - May 3, 2020  
We are hiring for numerous event volunteers and welcome individuals, teams, families, church congregations and more! You might be helping to register participants, preparing and serving lunch, or setting up tables and chairs. If you have accessibility concerns we can also accommodate these as well! The Walk is May 3, but we need volunteers for May 2 and May 3.

Assist at the Collingwood Market booth on Saturdays between 7am and 1:30pm. We will be holding free childrens art activities and selling lemonade. Volunteers can assist with the art activities and will sell lemoande.

To accept donations from the public at an assigned location for the duration of the mutually agreed shift. 
Report to an appointed location to receive Tag tray, coin box, supplies, permission letter. Tag at the selected location for the duration of the mutually agreed shift. Return the Tag tray, coin box, supplies, permission letter to the appointed location. Volunteers must wear the Identity Badge supplied by the Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County while tagging. The Badge must be returned with the coin box at the end of the shift.
