On April 1, 2024, the Community Safety and Policing Act, 2019 (CSPA) came into force and the Police Services Act (PSA) was repealed. The Ontario Civilian Police Commission cannot accept any new appeals, applications or requests for investigations. The Commission is working on adjudicative and investigative caseloads and will be dissolved at a future date determined by the Ministry of the Attorney General.

Independent quasi-judicial civilian tribunal with two divisions

Adjudicative Division

  • completing any hearings or appeals initiated before the transitions date

Investigative Division

  • working on current caseloads


New requests for appeals, applications or requests for investigation may be submitted to the appropriate authority, Inspectorate of Policing, Law Enforcement Complaints Agency or the Ontario Police Arbitration and Adjudication Commission
