THE OPPORTUNITY
Campfire Circle will be running in-person overnight camp programs at two medically supported overnight camp locations, Rainbow Lake (Waterford, ON) and Muskoka (Rosseau, ON) this summer. We will also be running a Day Camp program in Ottawa.
We are seeking new volunteers age 19+ with a variety of skill sets to participate in a life-changing volunteer experience! New volunteers must commit to one camp session, which can be a 4 to 8 day camp experience (inclusive of on-site training).
Whether it’s at Rainbow Lake, a quiet 143 acres site in Waterford, at Muskoka, which features 400 wooded acres in the town of Rosseau, or at our fun urban Day Camp location Ottawa, you will be connecting kids and families with fun indoor and outdoor activities that help improve their overall wellbeing.
All roles will require you to work in partnership with a team of other volunteers where your first priority will be camper/family safety; ensuring they are supervised and supported at all times.
To learn more about specific details and dates, please review the New Volunteer Applicant Guide: 2026-Volunteer-Info-Guide.pdf
As a board member, you will help shape the garden’s future: set strategic goals, guide fundraising, champion outreach, and ensure the garden remains an inclusive, eco‑friendly space for all. Your voice will influence programming, partnership development, and stewardship of this important community space.
The Bruce Botanical Food Garden is one of only two spaces in Canada with that designation. There is one acre full of over 250 different food plants, with room to grow in every way. We have space to physically expand and our education and food security programs also have strong growth potential with the right team.
Ready to grow with us? Email president@bbfg.org with a brief introduction and why you’re excited to join us. We’ll follow up to discuss the role and next steps.

Help us keep kids close to home! Simcoe Muskoka Family Connexions is looking for Foster Care Providers!
Simcoe Muskoka Family Connexions is a Child Welfare (Simcoe & Muskoka) and Children’s Mental Health (Muskoka only) agency licensed by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services. We support children, youth, families and communities with multiple services including fostering for children and youth up to 18 years old.
Our agency has an urgent need for foster care providers across Simcoe and Muskoka. We are looking for diverse caregivers who understand children’s needs. Children & Youth lose so much when they have to leave their community. Foster caregivers provide a safe home and a temporary solution for children and youth, while their families make the changes needed for them to come back home.
Would you consider opening your home and heart to providing care to youth and children? Fostering can be challenging, but it’s a very rewarding career. You don’t have to be perfect to make a difference in the life of a child. Fostering can be flexible and fit in with your lifestyle!
We encourage all applicants to apply regardless of sex, gender, marital status, race, ethnicity, national origin, age, orientation or religion.
Our application process, training and support will prepare you for your fostering journey. We find that all successful foster parents believe that the rewards of fostering, including building strong, loving relationships that last a lifetime, far outweigh the challenges involved. We offer a rate of $85/$155 a day per child to help support the cost of raising healthy, happy children and youth. Please inquirer today!
We look forward to hearing from you! Please share with anyone you think might be interested!
