Catulpa Community Support Services is seeking individuals residing in the County of Simcoe or the Region of York, with a strong interest in services and programs for those with special needs, to oversee the organization’s governance and future policy within a Volunteer Board of Director role in Barrie, ON. Individuals with disabilities, and those from diverse backgrounds and experiences are encouraged to apply. 
 
Currently, Catulpa Community Support Services invites volunteer applicants with experience in:  
* Finance experience in or understanding of appropriate financial controls and management practices required to achieve key financial metrics. 
 
Volunteer Board of Directors: Role and Time Commitment 
 
The Catulpa Community Support Services’ Board is responsible for effective governance of the agency through oversight of strategic planning, fiscal review and determination of mission related policy. It is not responsible for fundraising, personnel, programs, services, curricula or budgets. Volunteer Directors provide special skills and knowledge, (finance, law, social services, healthcare, etc.) within the Board setting.  
 
Meetings take place in Barrie, ON six times annually for approximately three hours per meeting. Successful Board of Director applicants are appointed for a term of three years and provided a mentor.

The Next Steps Walking Program is seeking Walking Partners! Next Steps serves individuals who have suffered from a stroke & their caregivers by providing them with a safe setting to interact with their peers and engage in physical activity. Next Steps seeks to improve participants’ quality of life. 
 
The Walking Partner is responsible for providing program support to staff and participants. The Walking Partner will assist the coordinator as needed (i.e. set-up and clean-up) in order to ensure the effective delivery of the program. This volunteer will also provide companionship and support to participants by developing positive and encouraging relationships with them, ultimately helping participants to maximize their experience in the program.

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Arthritis Society is recruiting for dedicated, caring and enthusiastic FLOATERS to volunteer at Camp Cambria, a camp for children living with arthritis, from August 19, 2018 to August 25, 2018 inclusive (pre-training required). 
Location: Camp Kodiak (Host Camp) Located North of Perry Sound in McKellar, ON 
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: ▪ Supporting the Camp Director and Program Staff in running and implementation of daily activities, lending support, where necessary, in order to deliver high quality programs. ▪ Assist in the organization and supervision of campers within the scheduled activities and throughout the day, providing necessary breaks for our camp counsellors. ▪ Act as a positive role model to staff and campers, participating actively and enthusiastically in all camp activities. ▪ Under the guidance of the Camp Director and Program Staff, Floaters may also be assigned various administrative and program support duties, or provide additional support to transporters and camp counsellors. ▪ Ensure a high standard of health and safety of campers in all activities at camp. 
▪ Promote and support the mission of The Arthritis Society. 
SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES: 
▪ Comprehensive understanding of the implications of living with arthritis, gained by living with arthritis and/or working/volunteering with people living with arthritis and / or chronic pain. 
▪ Valid CPR/First aid training certification. 
▪ Satisfactory completion of Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Verification 
▪ Previous experience working with children in a camp and/or education setting 
▪ Passion for working with children of all ages. 
▪ Excellent leadership skills, teamwork and communication skills.

Volunteer Transporter Job Description (Minimum Age of 19) 
POSITION OVERVIEW: The Arthritis Society is recruiting for dedicated, caring and enthusiastic TRANSPORTERS to volunteer at Camp Cambria, a camp for children living with arthritis, from August 19, 2018 to August 25, 2018 inclusive (pre-training required). 
Location: Camp Kodiak (Host Camp) Located North of Perry Sound in McKellar, ON 
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: ▪ Supporting the Camp Director and Program Staff by transporting staff and/or campers by means of golf cart, as required, to daily activities. 
▪ Transport campers and/or staff to medical facilities when additional care is required. 
▪ Responsible for monitoring and distributing hot and cold packs throughout the day, as necessary. ▪ Act as a positive role model to staff and campers. ▪ Under the guidance of the Camp Director and Program Staff, Transporters may be asked to perform various supportive duties, including delivering refreshments to campers and assisting with luggage drop off. ▪ Ensure a high standard of health and safety of campers in all activities at camp, including the proper use of golf carts at all times. 
SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES: 
▪ Comprehensive understanding of the implications of living with arthritis, gained by living with arthritis and/or working/volunteering with people living with arthritis and / or chronic pain. 
▪ Valid CPR/First aid training certification. 
▪ All drivers must hold at minimum a G1 driver’s license and have experience driving. 
▪ Satisfactory completion of Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Verification

Minds in Motion programs will be held in various community locations in most communities in County
Assist with participant pre-evaluations and assessments 
Help with the set up and clean up of refreshments, games and activities 
Assist Minds in Motion Coordinator to ensure activity participation and socialization
