Collingwood Paddling Club
The Collingwood Paddling Club is based out at the harbour in Collingwood, Ontario

The Treasurer's duties include, but are not limited to:


● Prepare an annual budget and present to the Board of DIrectors at the beginning of each season.


● Liaise with Accounting firm to prepare annual Financial Statements and present at the Club AGM.


● Manage the bookkeeper.


● Keep an accurate historical record of transactions in Quickbooks covering income such as membership
payments through RAMP, fundraising income, sponsorship income, and payments to employees, third
parties, and CKC/CKO affiliates.
○ Manage Chart of Accounts to ensure all transactions are itemized appropriately
○ Liaise with the bookkeeper to ensure:
■ Run reports on program registration through RAMP to reconcile daily Credit Card
deposits and e-transfers in Quickbooks
■ Ensure digital image of all invoices and receipts are uploaded to Quickbooks and
attached the the applicable transaction to be retained in file digitally.
■ Reconcile all transactions in a timely manner to ensure all reporting options are
up-to-date


● Maintain the club’s bank records.
○ Accept e-transfers for membership payments
○ Reconcile income from RAMP
○ Pay utility bills (auto withdrawal)
○ Prepare payments for CKO/CKC participation/regattas
○ Liaise with bookkeeper to ensure:
■ Reconcile transaction fees paid out to Global Payments on the first of each month
○ Reimburse member expenses in a timely manner and ensure an effective reimbursement
program is in place
○ Prepare funds for capital expenditures
○ Liaise with account representative at bank to ensure the Club accounts provide the best
possible services for the lowest fee
○ Liaise with the account representative at the bank to apply for Club Credit Cards.


● Manage all payroll functions.
○ Ensure all employees complete applicable forms including Employee Information, TD1 Tax
Form, Direct Deposit Form

○ Liaise with bookkeeper to ensure:
■ Accurately input all Employee information into Quickbooks and set up bi-weekly pay
structure
■ Receive timesheets from Boat House Manager electronically and import into Quickbooks
to ensure historical records are maintained for hours worked
■ Process payroll bi-weekly by direct deposit
■ Ensure all government guidelines are followed with respect to Statutory Holiday Pay and
Vacation Pay (as necessary).
○ Process and send T4 slips in a timely manner
○ Report and make payments to WSIB
○ Complete and submit ROE to Service Canada for each employee at the end of his/her summer
work period
○ Send monthly bank statements to bookkeeper


● Manage Club Insurance Policies.
○ Complete all necessary forms and submit to A. Gallagher as requested
○ Make premium payments in a timely manner to ensure all coverages are in place
○ Have full knowledge of the current Club Insurance policies and make recommendations to the Board of Directors as necessary regarding coverage updates

● Prepare a monthly Treasurer Report to be presented at the monthly Board Meeting.
○ YTD P&L Statement to Budget
○ Current Balance Sheet
○ A presentation of current trends, missing targets, or other financial updates

● Monitor the RAMP registration system and follow-up on non-payment of program fees. Liaise with CPC
Registrar as necessary to ensure registration accounts are up-to-date and outstanding accounts have
follow-up.

● Add program fees to member accounts during the season, as necessary, and follow-up on payment options.

Georgian Triangle Humane Society

Treasure Tails retail store is part of the Georgian Triangle Humane Society and raises money by selling high quality home décor, women’s apparel, collectables, antiques and more, generously donated by our community.

All profits from sales go directly to supporting the Animal Centre and Treasure Tails is one of the GTHS’ largest fundraisers.

Description As a Treasure Tails Customer Service Volunteer, you will report to the Store Manager and will be responsible for the day-to-day customer service operations at the store, including sales, interacting with customers, money transactions, light housekeeping of the store premises and arranging items for display. You will also be expected to promote awareness of the GTHS, its public programs, promotions and the Animal Centre. Time Commitment Customer Service shifts run Sunday to Wednesday from 10.45am until approximately 3.30pm, and Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 9.45am until approximately 1pm or from 1pm until approximately 5pm. Available volunteer opportunities are noted at the bottom of this posting. Volunteers are expected to familiarize themselves with new items instore and special promotions at the start of their shift. A minimum commitment of 6 months is required. Roles and Responsibilities Main areas of responsibility:

  • Provide assistance and excellent customer service to customers instore
  • Respond to telephone / in person enquiries
  • Coordinate with donors to book computerized donations appointments
  • Proactively promote items on special offer
  • Handle money and electronic sales transactions
  • Record purchases by hand
  • Wrap / bag purchases
  • Regularly sanitize counter
  • Monitor customers’ movements and blind spots for theft prevention purposes
  • Respond to / refer enquiries relating to GTHS services and the animal centre
  • After closing, tally day’s transactions, then photograph and email/text Daily Receipts slips
  • Sweep / vacuum and mop prior to store opening or after closing
  • Follow appropriate protocol, policies and procedures

Assistance when store is less busy:

  • Assist with acceptance of items being donated, if / as appropriate
  • Assist with merchandising of incoming goods and / or filling gaps post-sale (hanging and on shelves)
  • Tidy and replenish jewellery and watch displays, as appropriate
  • Dusting and maintain tidy store

Overview & Impact: The GTHS Animal Hospital contains an Operating Room, Treatment Room, Examination Room, Pharmacy, X-Ray Room and a Hospital Intake / Recovery Area.

Having an onsite hospital ensures animals receive timely, thorough and comprehensive care, saves dozens of daily phone calls, reduces trips back and forth to veterinary clinics, dramatically decreases the stress on the GTHS animals, and leads to the additional benefit of earlier adoption availability; so these animals find their forever home quickly.

The GTHS Animal Hospital is one of the only accessible spay/neuter hospitals serving Bruce, Grey and part of Simcoe County that performs 3,000 surgeries annually (an average of 50 surgeries per week), and subsidizing ~$770K in veterinary costs each year.

To promote pet wellness and safety, approximately 1,800 rabies vaccinations and 1,750 microchips are administered to GTHS Animal residents and community clients on an annual basis.

Position Summary: Reporting to the Community Programs Coordinator (and the Director of Medicine), the Hospital Discharge Volunteer will be responsible for discharging animals to the public after their Hospital appointment / surgery, as well as overseeing the cleanliness of the Hospital Intake Room.

  • Public hospital discharges
  • Speak to pet owners to relay how the surgery went and if there were any concerns
  • Ensure pet owners understand post-op and medication instructions
  • Review microchip information, as appropriate
  • Ensure onesie or cone is supplied, if appropriate
  • Return cats to their owners and coordinate with the Hospital RVT to bring dogs out to their owners
  • Accept payment for add-on services, as appropriate
  • Set up the Hospital Intake Room for the following morning’s intakes; including making kennel cards and labels for the next day’s animals
  • Set up dog kennels in the garage/storage area, if additional kennels are required
  • Clean and tidy the Hospital Intake Room once animals have departed; including wiping down kennels, tidying up, sweeping and mopping the floor
  • Assist the Community Programs Coordinator or Hospital staff as required
  • Follow appropriate protocol, legislation and regulations

  • Manage customer inquiries
  • Submit order to supplier- 1 week in advance by text message with location and number of boxes
  • Ensure only boxes that have been paid for or a token has been received are ordered
  • Remind customers of order deadlines 1 week prior to pick up date and pick-up date and time
  • Coordinate volunteer packers for delivery day
  • Manage the set up of tables to sort and pack produce into boxes, clean up the host site, and disposal of cardboard
  • Greet customers and record as boxes are picked up, take any pre-orders for the following month, and record accordingly
  • Complete monthly reports and bank deposit/cheque-send report, bank deposit receipt or cheque, any tokens received, and a copy of supplier invoice to United Way by both mail and send a copy/photo by email to food@unitedwaybg.com
  • Keep records of orders, pre-orders, and token use
  • Promote the program within the community (social media, word of mouth)
  • Availability to be on site for delivery day
  • Some lifting may be required of produce on delivery day to unload the truck

 

*Hanover is also in need of a new location (publically accessible building) to run the program.

Volunteer Tax Preparers will help people in Grey Bruce to file their taxes. 

Grey Bruce Community Volunteer Income Tax Program provides volunteers in locations all across Grey and Bruce County.  Volunteers will be need to be matched (and affiliated) with a local CVITP community organization.

Volunteers may have different roles as Tax Preparers depending on their level of skill and/or interest.  Volunteer tax preparer may volunteer at in-person or virtual clinics; or file individually online.  In some cases, individuals can work from their homes with a Coordinator who drops off and pickups paperwork for filing.

An Automatic Tax Filing program by the Federal government will be rolled out in 2027.  Therefore we shall still need volunteers to provide free tax filing for eligible people in our communities. 

Blue Mountains Bruce Trail Club (The)

The Events and Fundraising Director will initiate and manage the Club's events.

Essential Elements:

  • Plan, organize and run events inlcuding AGM & Christmas Potlock, End 2 End weekend, trivia nights, Travel adventures, Christmas tree sales, galas, garage sales and online auctions etc
  • Liase with the Volunteer Coordinator to build your team and organize volunteer appreciation events
  • Liase with the Communications Team to publicize events
  • Work with Club Treasurer to report results to the Board
  • Connect with the BTC fundraising team and it's peers at sister clubs to exchange ideas/learn best practices
