Volunteers required throughout Simcoe County.
TrainingOrientation ; Scheduled training - 1 time a year- around March and April ; LEVEL 1 - Basic Search Techniques  
LEVEL 2 - Basic First Aid  
LEVEL 3(A) - Team Leadership Training  
LEVEL 3(B) - Wilderness First Aid 
LEVEL 4 - Search Management  
 
 
Established in September of 1998, the Georgian Bay Volunteer Search and Rescue Team is one of 32 teams, registered with the Ontario Search and Rescue Volunteer Association (OSARVA), participating in this program.  
 
Our training is not limited to the above certification levels. The GBVSAR training program ensures that each member is ready and trained above and beyond the minimum certification level. Our trainers include certified police, military, fire service and industrial instructors who provide the team with a broad variety of instruction related to Search and Rescue.  
 
As part of their membership obligation, each member of the GBVSAR must complete  
Level 1 and 2 of the OPP/OSARVA certification program.
